Lockdown Productivity

Since lockdown many people have been using their time to start new hobbies or learn something new. Here’s a few suggestions if you’re wondering how to use your time wisely…

Don’t be a Netflix addict!

I’m not the type of person that can sit and binge watch on a boxset. I have nothing against those who do but personally I choose to read, watch design tutorials or do something constructive to hone in on my creative skills or increase my business knowledge. We all need some down time but watching 10 back-to-back episodes of “Stranger things” surely could have been spent doing something a little more productive, right?

Learn something new!

There are so many online courses available on pretty much anything! Two of my favourite online learning platforms are coursera.org and lynda.com. I’m currently signed up to two design courses, with many more in the pipeline. From psychology to wine tasting, songwriting to computer programming, why not take this time to dip into something you’ve always been interested in but never had the time to do.

Join social media groups in your field.

I’m not really a social media fanatic as I’m aware of its ability to slowly sap your time away… However, if you use it wisely you can actually learn from it and meet inspiring people with the same hobbies, interests or business ideas as you. I’ve joined a few creative groups where I can post artwork and get feedback from more experienced designers, as well as attend webinars from those that are sharing their tips and success stories. The digital world is amazing; make use of the wealth of knowledge that’s at your fingertips!

Speaking of social media, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @tinydesignsltd and Facebook @tinydesigns.
